The best book I read this year
Posted on 19 December 2014
Richard McGuire's Here is by far the most extraordinary book I read this year. McGuire, who–as the bass player for the band Liquid, was responsible for one of the most famous bass lines in music history–has crafted an eons-spanning epic that takes place in the space occupied by one corner of one room in a 20th century home. This graphic novel blew. My. Mind. An incredible work, one that, in the tale, forces you to confront the enormity of time, to observe the patterns and flows cascading down through the years. Absolutely astonishing. You can find it at Powell's (I don't get any cut by linking, I just want to share this incredible book). He also put together a time-themed playlist for them for the book's release.
