2012 Open Studios Art Tour
Posted on 23 September 2012
In a little under a month, Kim and I will be participating in the ARTS Obispo Open Studios Art Tour, and we couldn’t be more excited. OSAT is a county-wide showcase for artists in San Luis Obispo county. Over 240 artists will fling open the doors of their studios and show off their workspaces and artwork as part of the largest visual arts event on the Central Coast of California. It's going to be incredible.
The Open Studios Art Tour will take place over two weekends: October 13 & 14 and October 20 & 21. Our studio will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both weekends. We’ll both have full shows of new work, as well as some older paintings. I’ll have about 20-30 new paintings, and Kim will be debuting her series of unhappy costumed children and will showcase her distinctive portraits. We’ll have lots of California wines, tasty local food, good music, art prints, books and much more. It many turn into a happening. We’ll take a wait and see attitude on that, but it’s looking good.
I am very happy to have been chosen as one of 20 artists to display art at the OSAT Kick-Off party on October 5th in San Luis Obispo. If you’re in the area, come visit me and see one of my brand new paintings (you'll want to see this one) on the Court Street Terrace near Sephora and Pottery Barn and pick up your full-color, super-fancy Open Studios Art Tour catalog.
Arts Obispo has done an incredible job putting this tour together. You can get a catalog at locations listed here, or check it out online here. You can also download the iPhone or Android app on your smart phone - simply search Open Studios Art Tour in your app store and download it for free.
Several people have contacted me inquiring about local lodging and things to do—I’ll have a post up in a few days that will showcase my favorite places to stay, eat and enjoy while you’re in Central Coast wine country.
I realize many people won’t be able to make it, so all paintings will be available for purchase on Friday, October 12th. Sign up here so you can receive the October 12 email featuring all of the paintings and their pricing.
